RALEIGH, N.C. – Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the team’s 2021-22 Media Access Policy. In accordance with the NHL’s media policies, fully vaccinated and masked members of the media will be able to conduct in-person interviews this season. Additional information regarding locker room and Zoom access opportunities will be outlined prior to the team’s first exhibition game.
The Hurricanes will hold practices and morning skates at both PNC Arena and Wake Competition Center during the 2021-22 season. All practices, morning skates and games will be open to the media regardless of vaccination status, but only fully vaccinated members of the media will be permitted to conduct in-person interviews with Hurricanes players and hockey operations personnel. Additionally, only fully vaccinated members of the media will be permitted to access Arena Level at PNC Arena, which includes the media workroom and press meal. All media, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to wear masks at all times inside PNC Arena and Wake Competition Center.
Credentials
The Carolina Hurricanes are now accepting requests for full-season credentials for the 2021-22 season. Requests for full-season credentials must be received by Friday, Sept. 24. No full-season credential requests will be accepted after that date.
In order to formally request full-season media/photo credentials, please fill out the online form at http://CanesPR.com. You will find the form on the right side of the site under the “Pages” header, or you can link to it directly by clicking here. All full-season credential applicants who wish to have in-person interview access must email a copy of their vaccination card to David Piper at davidp@carolinahurricanes.com after completing the form. If you are a new credential applicant, or would like to change the photo used on last year’s credential, please also email a recent head shot or other clear photograph of your face to David Piper after completing the form. Photos will be printed on all full-season credentials.
When picking up a single-game credential, media members who wish to have in-person interview access will be required to provide proof of vaccination.
If a media member has a COVID-19 symptom or has had exposure to someone with COVID-19 or COVID-19 symptoms, they will not be admitted entry to PNC Arena or Wake Competition Center.
