The Hurricanes and PNC Arena collected more than 45 pallets of relief materials for delivery to areas affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas. The materials were donated by Triangle residents over 10 days, in conjunction with team sponsor Capital Automotive Group and the Carolinas Collision Center. Hurricanes General Manager Ron Francis and goaltender Scott Darling each volunteered to help collect items from fans.

Included in the materials were 20 pallets of water, four pallets of pet food and numerous pallets of paper goods and cleaning supplies. The American Red Cross coordinated the delivery of the materials on behalf of Capital Automotive Group, with assistance from UPS.
