Mike Maniscalco is in his eighth season with the Hurricanes and fourth as the team’s television play-by-play announcer. Maniscalco previously served as the team’s television and web host, where he served as host of Hurricanes LIVE prior to all of the team’s games on FOX Sports Carolinas and Southeast, as well as hosting and producing video content for CarolinaHurricanes.com.
Maniscalco is a 10-year veteran of sports media in the Triangle, and hosted the popular pre- and postgame shows surrounding the Hurricanes’ radio broadcasts from 2007-16. He also serves as host of the Canes Corner radio show, an on-location, hour-long interview show that helps connect members of the Hurricanes organization and the team’s fans.
Prior to relocating to Raleigh, Maniscalco was the afternoon drive host at WRNL in Richmond, Va., from 2001-07. He began his broadcasting career in his hometown of Buffalo, N.Y., serving as an on-air host and assistant production director at WGR 550, from 1996-01. Maniscalco most recently worked as an on-air personality and coordinating producer for IMG College Sports. He is a 1997 graduate of Buffalo State College.
Tripp Tracy is in his 25th season as the Hurricanes’ television analyst, serving alongside Mike Maniscalco on all team broadcasts. In addition to his work on Bally Sports South, Tracy also broadcasted playoff games for NBC Sports Network during the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
A former goaltender, Tracy was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. After completing four seasons at Harvard University, Tracy signed a free agent contract with the Hurricanes in August 1996. He spent two seasons in the organization, playing for Richmond (ECHL), Springfield (AHL), New Haven (AHL) and Carolina (NHL). Tracy retired from his playing career in 1998 and accepted a position at CNN before returning to the organization for the 1998-99 season.
Tripp lives in Raleigh and is involved in several charitable organizations in the Triangle, including the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. He also serves on the board for Children’s Charities at Adios and has participated in several Hurricanes Alumni events, including the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Alumni Fantasy games.
Hanna Yates is in her second season with the Hurricanes as the team’s television reporter. In addition to her role as reporter, Yates serves as the host of Bally Sports South’s pre- and postgame flagship show, Hurricanes LIVE.
Prior to joining the Hurricanes, Yates worked for KSDK, the local NBC affiliate in St. Louis, where she was a sports influencer and journalist since October 2019. Yates also previously co-hosted a radio show on KFNS 590 The Fan alongside former St. Louis Blues forward Cam Janssen. She attended the University of Missouri, where she earned a degree in Broadcast – Television Journalism with an emphasis in sports and a minor in business.
Shane Willis in his 11th season with the Hurricanes as a television analyst, serving alongside Hanna Yates on Bally Sports South’s pre- and postgame flagship show, Hurricanes LIVE.
Willis played as a forward for parts of 12 seasons. He was originally selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the third round of the 1995 NHL Draft, but he chose not to sign and re-entered the draft in 1997, when he was drafted by Carolina in the fourth round. Willis spent parts of six seasons in the Hurricanes’ organization and tallied 61 points (27g, 34a) in 141 NHL games with Carolina, earning selection to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2000-01. He also played for Tampa Bay from 2002-04 and spent one season in the Nashville Predators’ organization in 2007-08, finishing his NHL career with 74 points (31g, 43a) in 174 games. Willis also spent time in the AHL and ECHL, earning AHL Rookie of the Year honors in 1998-99, and played in Switzerland and Sweden in 2005-06.
Willis also currently serves as the Hurricanes’ Director of Youth Hockey and Community Outreach, helping to grow the game of hockey in North Carolina. He spearheads many of the organization’s youth hockey initiatives, helping to lead summer camps and coach the Jr. Hurricanes teams.
