‘CANES HIRE MARK MORRIS AS AHL HEAD COACH

RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has hired Mark Morris as the Head Coach of its American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers. In addition, the team has re-signed Geordie Kinnear as Charlotte’s assistant coach.

RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the roster and schedule for the team’s 2015 Prospects Development Camp, to be held from July 6-11 at PNC Arena. The camp’s evening on-ice sessions will be open to the media, and fans are welcome to attend the evening on-ice sessions on July 7, July 8 and July 10. The week will be capped with the camp’s on-ice session on Saturday, July 11, as part of the Hurricanes Summerfest Celebration. HURRICANES SIGN FORWARD T.J. HENSICK

RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has signed right wing T.J. Hensick to a one-year, two-way contract. The deal will pay Hensick $600,000 in the NHL or $250,000 in the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2015-16.

HURRICANES BUY OUT ALEXANDER SEMIN

RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has bought out the remainder of forward Alexander Semin’s contract.

‘CANES, SLAVIN AGREE ON ENTRY-LEVEL CONTRACT

RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Jaccob Slavin on a three-year, entry-level contract. The deal will pay Slavin $832,500 per season at the NHL level or $70,000 at the American Hockey League (AHL) level for each season. He will also receive a signing bonus of $277,500.
